In September I am taking on my biggest physical challenge to date - to cycle nearly 1000 miles over 9 days, covering the length of Britain, from Land's End to John O'Groats. Averaging more than 100 miles a day, and camping each night, this will be a huge test of mental resolve!
I am raising funds for a cause that is very close to my heart.
Kick4Life uses sport to provide health, education & employability support to vulnerable girls and boys in Lesotho in Southern Africa, where more than 100,000 children have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Lesotho has the world's second highest prevalence at 23.6%. As a sports lover myself, I believe strongly in the approach of Kick4Life to harness sport to make a real difference in these young people's lives, and to empower them with skills and knowledge to lead happy, successful lives.
I have been a trustee of the charity nearly a decade and saw first hand the impact of Kick4Life's life-saving work when I visited Lesotho in late 2019. Since then, Kick4Life has felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but continues to support those most in need with the aid of their not-for-profit enterprises and charitable donations.
I would be so incredibly grateful if you could sponsor me to undertake this challenge, and if you are able to contribute, whatever the amount, please make a donation on my
Justgiving page.
I will be keeping people updated on social media throughout the challenge and look forward to reporting back on how funds donated are being put to excellent use by Kick4Life.
