Nicola's 10 years on challenge......
Fundraising for The Friends of Thomas Wolsey School
Story
This year marks 10 years since Millie was diagnosed with A-Typical Cerebral Palsy and a severe/complex speech and language disorder.
On the 8th April 2008 our lives were turned upside down, when we were told "she can't be "fixed".....brain damage is permanent.....she may never walk unaided or talk.....you'll have to take one stage at a time" It was just 3 weeks before her 3rd birthday...
We have no explanation as to why.....lots of theories but nothing confirmed. What we do have, 10 years on, is a very determined young lady who is achieving so much more than was ever expected, who continues to astound the doctors and bring us nothing but joy.
Because we are 10 years on, I want to recognise just how far Millie has come, how many challenges she has overcome, by challenging myself to complete at least 10 of the events I have selected below. The first one is already completed....AND I may add some more to the list as we go. There is a mix of Run, Swim, Bike and Triathlon....individual and team events. And even an event on D-Day (diagnosis day 8th April)!

- Sunday 17th June Sudbury Triathlon - (Fab Fillies team)
- Saturday 23rd June Alton Water Great Swim (2 miles)
- Sunday 1st July Holkham Half Ironman - (Fab Fillies team)
- Saturday 18th August SUPERHERO TRI at Eaton Dorney with MILLIE!!!
- Sunday 9th September GREAT NORTH RUN
- Sunday 16th September Sudbury WOW cycle
- Sunday 23th September West Suffolk Tri
