Story
Hi folks,
On 24th of May I am running the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Po-Activ, which is a community based project that I was involved in setting up along with Greenock Morton in the Community. The project was set up with the purpose of promoting healthy lifestyles for local adults with learning disabilities and focusses on fitness, healthy eating and mental well-being. After a 20 week pilot the project has been evaluated as being a great success with the participants all feeling and seeing the benefits. Fitness has been improved, eating habits have changed and new friends have been made.
The group meet on a Tuesday at Lady Octavia sports centre for an hour long physical activity, then down to Morton's football stadium for a healthy pre-prepared meal, followed by an hour classroom session on health & wellbeing. All of this is led by Morton in the Community coaches with support from local learning disability organisation staff.
Following the pilot and evaluation the group decided that they would like to continue the Pro-Activ group and fundraise to meet the costs of running it. The plan is to run the group year round and raise funds by holding various events to cover the cost. No profit is made and the fundraising will all go towards this particular group.
Greenock Morton Community Trust (GMCT) is a registered charity, (Charity No: SC040819), which uses the power of football and the Greenock Morton FC brand to deliver a number of projects across the Inverclyde area.

It would be very much appreciated if you could sponsor me and make a contribution towards this very worthwhile project.
Many Thanks
