Story
Last December, I made the bold statement 'anyone can run a half-marathon, it's just mind over matter' in front of a room full of people. Moments later, I was challenged to prove this.
So here I am, this April running my first (and probably last) half marathon. And I wouldn't be able to do it if it wasn't for such a motivating cause. Those of you who know me, will know jogging is not my natural activity. But campaigning for better mental health conversation and support certainly is.
Mental health affects everyone in some way and is one of the biggest obstacles to success and happiness. Nightline does what no other organisation does in providing support every single night to students, often going through unimaginable difficulty. Through the compassion and dedication of an amazing group of volunteers across the country, Nightline saves lives and makes sure fewer students die by suicide.
A cause extremely close to my heart, having heard from young people close to the edge as a helpline volunteer and knowing too well the devastation mental health problems and suicide causes those close, I am passionate that every penny raised will make an incredible change. I am particularly sure of this having recently become a Trustee for Nightline and seeing the impact funding makes to a small charity with huge reach. Please help me make every mile count.
