Story
On the afternoon of Tues 19th December, we received a call from a local vets saying that a seriously ill 8 wk old puppy had been brought in by a young couple who had only had the dog two days and the vets suspected Parvo Virus, a killer in young pups :( The couple were not in a position to treat the puppy and the vets feared without urgent treatment she would die as she was very weak and dehydrated, so they agreed to sign her over to ECR. When I collected her she just lay in the cat carrier, without enough energy to even raise her head but when I spoke to her she tried to wag her tail, bless her xx The odds were stacked against this little girl, named Holly by the vet nurses but we felt she deserved a chance, so she was rushed into an intensive care isolation unit and immediately was put on fluids, and medication and was given plasma during the first night to increase her chances. This little girl is strong and within 2 days was keen to eat chicken and play in her crate and was ready to go into a barrier nursing foster by the weekend. She continues to do well, despite ups and downs with her tummy but a pleasure to care for and a real happy little character who will make someone a wonderful companion xxx We are so pleased we were able to offer her a lifeline xx
