One way I've been able to remain sane through this lock-down is running.Think of the things you've done that have helped you cope: enjoying time with family, walking in the gorgeous sunshine, taking up a new hobby...
Now try to imagine (in the words of All We Can https://www.allwecan.org.uk/give/current-appeals/emergencycoronavirusappeal) having to face Coronavirus without access to running water and soap? In cramped and unhygienic conditions, where social distancing simply isn’t possible?
This is the reality facing people living in some of the world’s poorest communities right now. All We Can, the Methodist Church in Britain and World Development & Relief have launched an Emergency Coronavirus Appeal, to help equip vulnerable communities across the globe to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19).
For communities with weaker healthcare systems, or who lack access to clean water and handwashing facilities, the impact of Coronavirus will be catastrophic. That’s why All We Can is asking: please do all that you can to help save lives today.
I can run, and run I shall. I give thanks to God I live in a country where I can go out once a day and enjoy some exercise. I realise I can't compete with the heroic efforts of Captain Tom Moore, but if the 21.1 Km I'll be running will make a difference to the lives of others, than bring it on!
