This is my story. I have 3 beautiful, bright, intelligent and witty kids. Our world was shattered over 7 years ago when Ciara one of our daughters was diagnosed as having Anorexia. Anorexia is one of the most cruel and fatal mental illnesses with little known into how to manage the condition. It destroys both body and mind and tries to rip families apart. Ciara has 2 beautiful kids whom she needs to see grow up and be there for. Her mind is in constant turmoil and she struggles every minute of every day. There is insufficient support in Northern Ireland and there is only one specialist unit situated in Belfast. As Ciara lives 35 miles away from Woodstock House and has 2 small kids she is unable to avail of the proper help and support required to enable recovery. 

FightED provides support and advice to parents and caters who have a loved one suffering from an Eating disorder. This Charity was founded and run by a family who have experienced and overcome an Eating Disorder. They are the only organisation in Ireland to deliver the world renowned New Maudsley Model Workshops to educate parents and carers. The workshops explore the difficulties in being a career, communication skills, psychology of change, how to deal with conflict and more importantly promote recovery in their loved ones.
