We aim to build a Supported Living Centre to house people with a learning disability

Story

I am supporting the JPK Sussex Project, which is a local charity in my home town of Eastbourne, that my family has close connections with.

The JPK has been formed to provide a Supported Living Centre for people with a learning disability. This includes providing eight supported living flats and also providing realistic training and work experience in hospitality, for this client group.

My wife, Victoria, previously worked for the architects who are assisting with the project and now works for our family plumbing and heating business, which supports the JPK wherever we can. Victoria’s cousin, Ralph, was born with Down Syndrome and with the amazing care and support he has received throughout his life, he has been able to win a gold medal at the Special Olympics.

Although the JPK are a small charity, they work tirelessly to support people with a learning disability to reach their full potential, against massive odds. The JPK aims and objectives are to help those who through no fault of their own, cannot help themselves.
