Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Before I explain the event I will cover the why, it started off as #22kill and has since taken various names and spread far and wide in the US and UK as popular internet viral videos do, conducting 22 press ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness about PTSD.
But what tangible results would I achieve doing this for our service community in the UK.
On the #22kill site there is an area where you can actually donate cash to the charity that helps veterans with PTSD but how many people that post videos actually donate?.
I was nominated to do the challenge and I did start however it felt like a banter video watching myself on social Media doing press as most of my friends on there are either military or veterans which is one in the same, so who was I really trying to raise awareness to? And yes I want to show my solidarity and donate to the American charity but I want to support my own here in England also. So on day 3 of the challenge I decided to stop the videos and research a charity that helps UK service and emergency service personnel with PTSD both serving and veterans much to the naysayers dissatisfaction.
So that's the why! 😅😅😅 now for the event!
It starts on Christmas Eve of this year, myself and a few friends will walk with 25KG from the Woolwich London to Bury St Edmunds to raise £2500 to help provide services that help UK Military and Emergency service personnel, serving or veterans, with PTSD. The total distance is 72 miles my aim is to achieve this within 36 hours, with a bit of Devine intervention.
Thank you for taking the time to read this biblical essay now those of you that have done the challenge and not donated pop a few quid in the jar ✌🏼️🇬🇧
Many Thanks
