On the 26th of July I will be running the 78km of the Swiss ultra-alpine marathon in Davos, Switzerland. It sounded like a good idea 7-months ago... It was such a ridiculous personal challenge that I set myself, and has meant hours and hours of running (close to 1800km of running so far this year), lap after lap in the pool, strength and core conditioning work in the gym, ginseng and ephedra herbal solutions (this tastes particularly horrible), hours on the massage table, protein shakes, epsom salt baths, accupuncture, chiropractic work, pilates, some yoga... I have tried and done it all in order to be prepared as best I can be...

Yes running 78km in the Swiss Alps is a stupid idea, but a great opportunity for me to do some good and get your attention. Being a father to two small children I am thankful that they are healthy, well-looked after and have a lot to look forward to. But there are 8,4 million children that are less fortunate in our world today that don't get the opportunity to be what they are... Children.
