Brain damage is a life changing illness which can affect anyone. Recently,two of our good friends suffered terrible brain injuries which have had massive consequences on their lives and everybody around them. Ben Stevenson (18) had to undergo major surgery to remove a brain tumour in March of this year (never failing to smile through all the mayhem, wee charmer) and Robbie MacDuff (18) was involved in a skiing accident on Christmas Day of last year, which left him in an induced coma for several days before he was returned home to the RABIU at Musgrave. Both men have maintained a sparkling attitude and are making spectacular recoveries, and they inspired us into doing this sponsored head shave in order to raise money for BRAINWAVES NI- a brilliant charity which helps those like Ben and Robbie who has experienced potentially life- changing brain injuries.
