Story

On the 27th June 2014 myself and 7 of my colleagues from the fleet and waste department of Birmingham City Council will, over the course of 2 days, complete the C2C cycle route. Starting in Whitehaven on the West coast we will ride through the Lake District, across the notoriously hilly Pennines, before descending along the old railways of County Durham into Sunderland on the East coast. Blood, sweat, tears, and hopefully plenty of laughter await us over 140 miles of England's most dramatic landscape. Of course we are not doing it purely for pleasure, it's a fundraising weekend, and our chosen charity is The Lord Mayor Of Birmingham's, who supports Bowel Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis, and many other good local causes. So, while we are digging deep, deep into our energy reserves........will you dig deep as well???

About the charity

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham’ s Charity will now choose a theme which will run for three years. The theme for 2016-2019 is Health and Wellbeing. The ethos of the Charity remains - all funds raised by the Charity are for the benefit of the people of Birmingham.
