Story
This year the Cravens and the Rainbows wanted to do something a little different during their summer holidays.... something as families that was a little more challenging with a sense of adventure as well as a purpose.... something that would take us out of our comfort zone (especially the ladies) and at the same time contribute to a good cause.....
Bring on "Rusty Rex Rallies."
Our challenge is to buy a two roadworthy cars for under the relatively measly sum of £300 each and to complete an arduous four day rally between 12th-15th July 2014, travelling over 2000 kms through Europe. Starting in Reims the route takes us down through France to Interlaken in Switzerland, around Lake Brienz and on to Bormio (Italy) in the Alps, via the famous Furka and Stelvio passes. Continuing past Lake Como and spluttering over the highest roads in Europe, we will travel to the French alpine town of Val-D'Isere before snaking our way through the French grand canyon "Gorge de Verdon" and on to Monaco for the final drive (or push) along the Cote d'Azur to our ultimate destination, Nice. Breakdowns... arguments....boredom..... cramps... car sickness.....getting lost and more breakdowns should all form part of the fun... so please help us to make it all worthwhile the end!
Our cause is to try to raise as much sponsorship as we can to donate to The Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dee's sister suffers with this awful debilitating disease along with over two and a half million sufferers worldwide, and the society is trying to develop a cure to help all the people that succumb to this indiscriminate illness.
Your help by way of a small donation so we can reach our target would be very greatly appreciated! Any money you donate, however small, goes straight to The Multiple Sclerosis Society to assist them in their work, which can only be a really good thing. If you can also please like our page and forward it to whoever you can that would be awesome too.
