Hi Everyone,

After last years Cycling Challenge which raised nearly £2500 for Kaiden Pritchard and Hospice at Home I have decided to try a solo challenge this year, on August the 11th I will swim the length of Llyn Padarn (2 miles), Cycle the 'Etape Canol route (76 miles), and then scale up and down Snowdon, all in one day, this time the money I raise will  be donated to Gafael Llaw, below is a short story on why im taking on this challenge, many thanks..x

 As some of you may know my daughter Erin contracted meningitis when she was around 6 weeks old, without the quick thinking of her mother and the nurses at the Accident and Emergency ward things could have been a lot different for us as a family, Erin was rushed to the Childrens ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd and given a lumbar puncture which confirmed she had meningitis, it was a long 36 hr wait to then know which strain she had contracted, although the tests came back inconclusive she was treated for the worst strain, this meant a 14 day  intensive course of strong antibiotics which was administered intravenously, after the 2 week course and being allowed home she then had to go in every day for another week to finish the antibiotic course, Myself and Charlotte owe a lot to the Doctors and Nurses of 'Dewi Ward' and everyone else at Ysbyty Gwynedd who helped Erin recover from this horrible illness, if you have been unlucky enough as we have, or will ever have to be on 'Dewi Ward' you will only have the best and most professional care in the world, I have picked Gafael Llaw as my charity as they continuously work with the 'Children's Unit' at Bangor and Liverpool and are always looking for funding to carry out their exceptional work, please, please give what you can to help this fantastic charity.
