We work alongside formerly homeless people to help them get back on their feet again.

Story

To raise money for Emmaus, 30 Year 9 pupils are sleeping out at school on Friday March 22nd, starting at 8.p.m. It will finish at 8 a.m. on Saturday 23 March. Participants commit themselves to sleeping in the open air around the school in order to experience for one night the reality of sleeping on the streets. They have also committed themselves to raising as much money as possible for Emmaus through sponsorship.

During the evening there will be a visit from members of Emmaus Cambridge, who will offer support, advice, food, drink and blankets, as they do to rough sleepers around Cambridge.

Emmaus is a fantastic international organisation. Emmaus communities support homeless people, helping them to become self-reliant through working and living together. The oldest Emmaus Community in the UK is near Cambridge, between Waterbeach and Ely. Staff and Companions (ex-homeless people) live and work together. They collect, refurbish and sell furniture and other household goods.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
