Story
I have applied for the London Marathon for many years ever since I started running but never got a place. I had kind of given up running long distances because I think my age was catching up with me. Having been lucky enough to get a ballot ticket this year I just can't miss this opportunity to run the London Marathon and in the process I hope to raise money for a great cause. Arctic One helps able bodied and disabled people to “Get Involved” in Sport. This will be especially helpful for the forward motion grant system which helps para athletes of all ages and abilities pursue their sport. Recently I helped at one of the Arctic One triathlon events and I was amazed by how brave and determined these athletes were and how with just a little help they achieved amazing results. Most people wouldn't jump into a lake and swim 800 metres but when you are partially sighted and are counting the strokes this is even more impressive. These athletes are truly inspiring and with a bit of help they can reach their full potential.
