Story

Over the course of 2019 from April to September I will be doing five cycling events in aid of Buckinghamshire Mind - the chosen charity of Orange Genie Accountancy.

April

First step is the Haddenham - Sharpener - Sunday 28th April 2019 - 110km ride across the chilterns. hilly and stupendous scenery.

Completed in over four gruelling hours

May

Second Event is a solo adventure - The Hill challenge - referred to as "Everesting" -

The concept of Everesting is fiendishly simple: Pick any hill, anywhere in the world and ride repeats of it in a single activity until you climb 8,848m – the equivalent height of Mt Everest

Now Im no spring chicken, so I plan on trying to reach Kilamanjaro 5,895m in 12 hours - on Thursday 30th May 2019.

Completed 4,500m elevation. Mount Matterhorn conquered

June

Third Journey - Is the Aylesbury Vale Tour - 100km on Sunday 9th June 2019. Raising money for Stoke Mandeville Wheel Power.

Completed 3 hours 50 minutes. Slower than last year by 5 minutes. I'm getting old.

July

Fourth Event - Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival Sunday 14th July 2019 - 161km - Starts from Penn House, Amersham.

8 hours to complete and very pleased how well it went. Plenty of up hill struggles throughout..

September

Last event is a return to Haddenham - this time the Howler event - 22 September 2019 - Epic 125km ride. Last year cancelled due to the weather, but never fear 2019 will all be completed come rain or shine.
