The 44km of river walls along Suffolk's Alde & Ore Estuary need urgent work to help protect the local communities, homes and businesses from the risk of flooding.

Story

SAVE OUR SUFFOLK ESTUARY The centuries old landscape of the Alde and Ore Estuary is under threat from flooding. All this is at serious risk: • our homes, shops, historic sites and Snape Maltings • local businesses in tourism, leisure and the arts generating over £100 million a year • a mosaic of internationally protected wildlife habitats and nature reserves • sailing, fishing and 101 kilometres of public and permissive footpaths • 8950 acres of farmland and fresh water • Two pubs and 26 homes were flooded in Snape during the 2013 storm surge.
