My uncle, Keith, sadly passed away in 2017 from his second battle with base of tongue cancer. When I told my aunt Linda that I was going travelling in South America, she generously gave me some money to enjoy on this journey, saying that my uncle always said we should get out and see the world. Knowing how proud it would make him to see me on this journey, I'd like to give something back to the foundation who can help detect this type of cancer sooner.

With this in mind, I'm using the money my Aunt gave me to cycle the world famous Yungas Road a.k.a. The Death Road, Bolivia, at the end of July for charity. In 1995 it was officially named the world's most dangerous road, with an estimated 200-300 people killed on the road per year.

All donations will go directly to the Head & Neck Cancer Foundation. I have selected the HNCF because they are focusing on methods of detecting and treating head and neck cancers at earlier stages. Head and neck cancer treatments can be very invasive and often impact quality of life after treatment greatly. This is why I have chosen to raise money for a foundation that are researching ways to detect cancer early and also find less invasive ways of removing cancers of the head and neck.

I plan on using a reputable guide to complete this cycle, therefore fully expect I won't be added to any statistics!
