Story
Clare and I are undertaking the Three peaks challenge in June. We are aiming to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) in under 24 hours. We are taking on this challenge with some close friends to raise money for two charities that are very close to home for us. But we are also doing it for our own personal achievement (Clare especially who is pretty much doing this on one and a half legs following a ski accident), although our training has been heavily affected by the latest lockdown. We are on the case now though!
The two charities we are raising money for are both close to home for us;
Love Musgrove is our local hospital charity in Taunton. Musgrove has been, and continues to be a regular support to our family and we feel this is one way to give back when they have given us so much.
Sporting minds UK is a charity that supports young sports men and women with their mental health. Having worked for most of my life in sport, I have seen first hand as a coach, friend and teacher how important mental health support is. I am so pleased they are raising awareness and support for young people. Some of my current or ex pupils at King's Taunton are charity ambassadors for Sporting Minds. They have put themselves out there to support this charity and this is my way of supporting them as well.
Thank you so much for any donation and wish us luck. We will provide as many updates as possible including a video diary of the trip.
