I'm running the Manchester 10k this May - something that is a real challenge to me, as I've never ran further than for the bus!

I'm going to be raising money for MASH - Manchester Action on Street Health - a charity involved with aiding women engaged in prostitution in Manchester.

This stigma surrounding prostitution means that it's often marginalised and overlooked. Often the women working in the sex industry have complicated histories, and need support offered on an individual and understanding basis. 

MASH has been supporting women in the sex industry in Manchester for 26 years, with a range of support from drop in centres and advice to the MASH van which provides on-street help. Last year MASH helped over 880 women.

I'll be struggling through some training to try and reawaken the athlete in me who seems to have been hibernating since primary school.
