Over to our mum......

Poppy and Macy have decided that they want to raise money for the neonatal unit which saved their lives nearly 10 years ago. Poppy and Macy were born at 33 weeks due to them having twin to twin transfusion syndrome. Macy hadn't grown for 3 weeks and her life was in serious danger if the pregnancy continued.

Poppy was 4lbs 2oz and Macy was 3lbs 3oz when they were born and they were taken straight to intensive care. As a parent having your baby taken straight away from you is very traumatic. Living each hour and day not knowing what will happen to your babies next, then being discharged from hospital having to leave your babies behind is unexplainable. If it wasn't for the amazing nurses that give you so much love, friendship and trust it would be impossible to do. The nurses on the neonatal unit are literally all fantastic. We will never forget what they did for us those 3 weeks. We feel that if it wasn't for the amazing team at burton Poppy and Macy wouldn't be the fit, strong healthy girls they are today and they have decided that raising money to take back to say thank you and help other families and babies would be a good way to celebrate their 10th birthday next year.

As a family we are all going to work together to help them reach their target!
