Story
2018 is going to be an exciting year for Louis with his soon
to be released debut solo album, his upcoming tour and the world finally
getting to know the beautiful soul that is Louis Tomlinson.
To mark this historic year, we want to do something a little
different. We want to acknowledge the subtle but very important ways in which Louis has supported the LGBT community. In Louis's own special way, he has demonstrated support time after time helping many in the community while also educating and creating awareness for allies. Louis’s support deserves to be recognized and celebrated! So for Louis's half-birthday, June 24th, we would like to raise ₤ 2018 for Stonewall UK and post fan stories of how Louis has helped inspire, educate or comfort you. June is also Pride month, making Louis’s half-birthday all that more special in the LGBT community.
Stonewall is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)
rights charity in the United Kingdom named after the Stonewall Inn of Stonewall riots fame in New York City’s Greenwich Village.
Now it is the largest LGBT rights organisation not just in the UK, but in Europe. It was formed in 1989 by political activists and others
lobbying against section 28 of the Local Government Act. Its founders include Sir Ian McKellen, Lisa Power MBE and Michael Cashman (CBE). Stonewall is an incredible organisation that stands at the forefront of individual empowerment, Diversity Champions programme and they do tremendous work in Education and general LGBT awareness – both in government, the workplace and at school. They are also a partner in the rainbow laces initiative.
