We offer care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer

Story

Rob , Simon and myself  will be running the 2014 London Marathon to raise awareness and funds for all the great work done by the charity Breast Cancer Care (www.breastcancercare.org.uk).

In the decades since this great cause was established it has helped to support many people who have been impacted both directly and indirectly by this disease.

QVC has managed to raise over £4.4m for the charity over the last 14 years and will continue to support this wonderful organisation, through events, donations and employee support.

With a combined age in excess of 110 years, 2 of us having a midlife crisis and young Rob there to drag us through to the end. We are all entering our very first Marathon which is double the distance any of us have ever achieved.

Please sponsor us and this great charity, what ever you can afford, Help motivate us through the training and preparation, in this lovely British winter, with sideways rain, and puddles the size of ponds around every corner.

Every pound we raise will help support so many people through the challenges of Breast Cancer. Every mile I run in training and on the day will be worth the pain, blisters and tired muscles, to help this wonderful charity

Thanks

Steve

Rob says

"I've been wanting to do a Marathon for some time and have been supporting Breast Cancer Care through work for a good few years now, so I felt it was a great opportunity to do something good.

I have experienced first hand from working closely with those affected by Breast Cancer during filming for the BCC shows what a great cause the charity are fighting for and how many people's lives they positively affect on a daily basis.

I'm really looking forward to the 13th April as I think it'll be an amazing day,

I doubt my body will agree with that but it'll well worth it and hopefully we'll raise a lot of money for this important cause that touches so many people.

Your support would be really appreciated"

Many thanks
Rob

Simon says

"Hey, all – it was 8 years ago I first tied my laces and pinned-on a number for a race day and in that time I’ve run, biked and swum in a fair few events and distances up to half marathon. But in all those years I remained firmly convinced something was beyond me – running a marathon. I’ve always believed the 26.2 miles was a distance best left to those a little less sane than I’ve claimed to be.

However… For what seems an appropriate tribute in my 40 year (mid-life crisis?), on the 13 of April I’ll be joining a small band of other fools to run the Virgin London Marathon!

And so to the ask: Where possible pledge a sum to aid the work of Breast Cancer Care and support the people they support through dreadful and challenging times in their lives. Any help you can offer will be gratefully received and very much appreciated.

And finally, one last request. Think of me over the time between now and race day, because for sure, in the seemingly endless pre-dawn training hours that stretch out before me in these the cold winter months, I’ll be thinking of you and those more well-balanced people tucked up warm and cosy in their beds (e.g. my wife and kids)."

Thank you
Simon
