Story

At 9am on Tuesday 14th October Quantum team members will put their best feet forward to raise money for BBC Children in Need and our charity of the year - the Retreat Animal Rescue.

At this exact hour each and every team member will be issued with a pedometer, which they will then be asked to wear for a month. Each week, the individual members will log their steps taken to see how far they have walked. All steps taken will be added to the collective total - to see just how far the Quantum team can walk in one month.

Quantum Craig will be plotting our progress on our dedicated charity page
 - providing us with a visual reference of where we are - and where we want to get to. Visit www.quantumpr.co.uk/walk to follow us on our walk. We’re aiming to get to the BBC station in Manchester (or further!)

As well as competing with one another, Team Quantum will also go head-to-head with Team Beechtree Total Care in a collective Race to Manchester. Quantum’s seven-man squad, led by Junior Graphic Designer Emma Brace, will go up against a Beechtree seven led by Debbie Brace, Emma’s mum and Training Manager at the Ashford-based home care agency, in a family face-off being dubbed as the Great British Brace Off.

Emma Brace said: “We’re really looking forward to our March to Manchester charity challenge, which will raise money for Children in Need and The Retreat, based in Ashford.

I’m sure competition will be intense within Quantum HQ, with each member of staff hoping their feet will help them get their hands on the day off, but we’ll all pull together to ensure we collectively reach our 283-mile target well before Children in Need on 14 November and, perhaps more importantly, before my mum and the rest of Team Beechtree do!”
