Some of you already know that myself and my family have been fundraising for this charity for years after losing my dad to Oesophageal Cancer. The symptoms of this particular cancer are such common things, often overlooked. We fundraise both to raise awareness of this disease and to help raise vital funds to support research. Oesophageal Cancer is a complex and tricky cancer, affecting approximately 450 people in Ireland annually, that's grandparents, mums, dads, brothers, sisters, favourite aunts, uncles, or friends whose lives are forever changed, on diagnosis.
