Story

Hi Everyone,

I managed to complete the course despite my lack of training and all I had to show for it was sore ankles for a day or two.

The event itself was brilliantly organised and the massive number of entrants ensured it was a really brilliant atmosphere,.  And the rain stayed away too, so that made things even better.

I was absolutely delighted to complete the course and thought that the feeling of  sheer pleasure at crossing over the finishing line wouldn't be topped that day....but I was wrong!  Without telling me of her plans, my Mum made it down to Holy Rood park to welcome me back and when I saw her there I was completely overwhelmed.  What she had to do to get there would have been very tiring for her but it is testimony to her strength of character and a typical example of why she is such an inspiration.

I entered the Race for Life with a few colleagues; Ann Watson, Maureen Heron & Janette Cruickshank. If you read this girls, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You were all great fun to be with and I enjoyed sharing the whole experience with you.

To all my sponsors, a massive massive thank you to each of you.  Look at the total above and tell me you are not proud of yourselves.  That's all your money folks and what an incredible amount it is; way, way above what I thought would be reached.

I am truly humbled

Love Diane xxx
