We inform and support those with eczema to end the stigmatisation of eczema

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

This year, I hope to run a half marathon, while raising funds for the eczema society.

As a child I told my mum that having eczema felt like I was covered in thousands of tiny spiders, crawling over my skin. As a 31 year old, this description still holds true.

That uncontrollable itch, along with inflammed, dry, cracked and oozing skin, can be at times, a real pain (quite literally)! It can really affect the physical and mental wellbeing of those who suffer from it. For this reason, I am raising money for the society. It carries out vital research which helps the livelihoods of those who have this inflammatory condition. Any money donated will go directly to the charity and thus help many whose lives are affected by eczema.

1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults in the UK have eczema - that's over 8 million people. For almost 50 years the Society has provided information and support and works to dispel myths so those who have eczema need not feel stigmatised, guilty or isolated.
