I am travelling to India with a group of fellow students to spend time at Russ Foundation, helping with the children there, who are all from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Russ Foundation is a non-governmental organisation, based in Tamil Nadu, India. The organisation has been running for 23 years, and is now a dynamic organisation working in various categories, including; Health, Education, HIV/AIDS, Socio-economic Development, Vocational Training and Ecology.

Russ Foundation’s aim is to create culturally relevant, sustainable solutions to problems faced by rural communities in Madurai and its surrounding districts. Over the past 23 years, Russ Foundation has transformed thousands of lives, primarily those of women and children. Every year, Russ Foundation’s outreach programmes benefit thousands of people.
Russ Foundation also has a Home for Children without Parents, Primary School, Dairy Farm, Kennels and is currently building a Hospice for HIV/AIDS and TB patients. All of these activities are based on their 17-acre campus.
