Story
I have been accepted to volunteer abroad with Restless Devleopment as part of the international citizenship service (ICS). I will be travelling abroad to Zambia for three months in either Kabwe or Chibombo, both are located in the Central Province of Zambia. During my time there I will be working towards increasing young people's awareness and participation in all aspects of society - through promoting self-confidence, employment skills, and sexual health
rights.
After returning from Zambia, as the final phase of the ICS programme I plan to work on issues related to political awareness. Working with my local community to ensure a full clear picture is presented to young people about what is going on, what has happened and how it will affect everyone in the future.
Restless Development is championing a growing movement, led by a new generation that is more active, more connected and more able to lead the change needed than ever before. Our vision is that young people everywhere are able to demand and deliver a just and sustainable world. In the past 30 years our network of young volunteers has grown to over 17,000 people worldwide. They have trained, inspired and helped more than seven million children, young people, and community members in Africa, South Asia and the UK.
