I feel very lucky to have be given a place by Barnardo’s in the London Marathon on Oct 3rd, so not long to go. It is in fact the third date for this marathon having been postponed from April 2020 to April 2021 and finally October 2021 so plenty of opportunities to do some training ! My two Labradors Wilma and Nellie seem to have enjoyed the long runs more than I have...

A very good friend is currently President of Barnardo’s so we know first hand how tough things are. COVID has, as with all charities, hit fund raising hard and with the number of kids that are looking for foster homes up by 44% it is a real challenge.

Barnardo’s have been looking after and protecting vulnerable children for over 150 years and it is the first charity I remember raising money for at school in the 1970s. It is a real privilege to be able to help in a small way.

My last marathon was in 2012 and the time was 3.59.52 so I still have 8 seconds to play with to get under 4hrs and will be trying my very best.
