This Summer I will be taking part in the Fastnet yacht race. This has been an ambition of mine for many years but by undertaking this challenge I also want to be able to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis.

The Fastnet yacht race is a 603 mile race from Cowes, around Lands End to the Fastnet Rock at the base of Ireland and back to Plymouth. It takes place every two years and this year will start from Cowes on 16th August. To take part there has to be a great deal of training and pre-qualifying races.

Multiple sclerosis has touched our family and although we are lucky that so far it has been mild we know that many people across the UK suffer from the effects of this debilitating disease of the nervous system.
