Fundraising for Romanian Rescue Appeal U.K
Story
Hi everyone;
On September 24, 2017 I will run the Berlin marathon for the second time. On April 16, 2018 I also run the Boston marathon as part of my goal to complete the World Marathon Majors 6 Star Challenge. Boston will be the final leg of my 6 star journey after running London in 2008, New York in 2013 (after a failed attempt in 2012 due to the cancellation of the race), Berlin in 2015, Chicago in 2016 and Tokyo earlier this year.
It's been a big goal of mine to complete these races so I wanted to try and help this charity as they are doing something so positive.

Romanian Rescue Appeal
is a UK-based registered charity, which is run by Lindsey Church
(Founder), two trustees and a team of experienced rescuers and
volunteers. To date we run three safe shelters in Romania and have so
far rescued over 1400 dogs.
They rescue injured, starving and homeless dogs in Romania from
a life of suffering on the streets and from death in the barbaric
public shelters.
They have so far rescued over 1400 dogs and continue to save as many as we can with very little funding
We run three private shelters in Romania, providing food,
kennel space, veterinary treatment and a warm, safe environment for our dogs until they can be adopted.
They search for loving forever homes for our dogs, mainly finding homes for them in the UK.
We raise awareness to the general public of the terrible
cruelty suffered by dogs in Romania and promote humane behaviour towards the dogs.
Founder Lindsey Church became involved in Romanian rescue after
seeing a post on social media about a large number of dogs that were
being massacred in a public shelter. Prior to this she would close her
eyes and ears to pictures and stories of animal abuse, only so that she
could sleep at night and not be haunted by faces of pain and
desperation. Lindsey started to look at the pictures of abuse and
research the situation of the voiceless dogs in Romania. Lindsey
founded Romanian Rescue Appeal in March 2014.
Romanian Rescue Appeal achieved charitable status in the UK twelve months later.
