Some time ago I decided to sign up to the Big Sleep Out to raises awareness of the Homeless issue in Oxford and raise money for Aspire and the Oxford Homeless Pathway.  

This happened on the weekend of the 7th/8th October and it turned into a bit of a mad weekend.  I hope you agree it is worth donating a bit of money to keep encouraging me to do mad things....

So the weekend went as follows...

• Saturday am started off with a gentle 5km Parkrun at Cutteslowe Park 
• Game of Hockey for Oxford Hawks 7th XI v Reading...we won 4:1
• Set up the PA system at Oxford Hawks for the Junior Festival
• Made my way to Hill End Activity Centre for the Big Sleep out.  Fantastic evening and amazing and inspiring talks from some of Oxford's homeless and workers from Aspire and OHP.  Approx 4 hours sleep....quite a cold night
• Sunday...up at 0545 and made way back home for a quick bowl of porridge.
• Off to Oxford Hawks for 0800 to set up for the Festival with Harry and Kate who organised the U8 session from 0900 to 1100.
• Cycled to Oxford at 0845 and warmed up in time for the start of the Oxford Half Marathon at 0945.
• Finished the Half Marathon in 1:46
• Cycled back to Oxford Hawks and helped run the U10's and U12's competition.  Over 600 kids played hockey over the day..medals for all.
• Back home by 1930....two glasses of wine and in bed by 2100.

So all in all a quite weekend.  I hope you will donate whatever you can to support those trying to assist Oxford's Homeless.
