I am running on behalf of an amazing charity called Heart Link. The staff do brilliant work which I have witnessed first hand with many visits to Glenfield hospital.

Mitchell (pictured above with his brothers Liam and Freddie) was born with a heart defect. He was giving life saving surgery at birth and in 2007 he had his Aortic Valve replaced with a mechanical substitute.

Over the past year he has been feeling very tired when doing any day to day physical activity and only attending school for the morning session as he tires very quickly.

It was decided he would require a final operation to fix him which involved a new mechanical mitral valve, a new mechanical aortic valve and new aortic root.

Mitchell had his operation on 23rd September he's currently in intensive care and being supported by some amazing machinery much of which Heart Link has helped to buy.
