Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was going to Peru in 2020, now it's Land End to John O'Groats for me. I've not seen that reported as a Covid side effect!

It all started after a Zumba class at FitJoy in Chichester, and I decided to break my habit of thinking about things, but not doing them. It did create some waves - but then another wave hit us all!

Even a year later, Peru seemed unlikely, but LEJOG was on offer - so for the second time - I made am impetuous decision - and realised it was a real challenge but still over a year away. Plenty of time for my favourite pass-time - procrastination.

Then life took some cruel twists and turns. My children lost their mum, and I lost my ex-wife, and although divorced, Diana is deeply missed by all of us and many others. That all took place a year before this fundraising cycle. I did wonder if I should be at home with my children (both grown up), but although Diana was at St Barnabas Hospice in Worthing, I feel this cycle marks getting on with life, remembering a life, and supporting the hospice movement all at the same time.

So, from what appeared to be almost a whim, I have good reasons to be doing this - if simply raising funds for St Wilf's were not enough

So, under two weeks before the start; am I ready? "The answer is yes, possibly." (David Coleman, for those old enough to remember him!). I need to be ready physically, mentally and spiritually. I think we have 3 greens to go.

Funds raised now over half target, and every £ from now on goes to St Wilfrid's.  It would be  great to raise money for St Wilfrid's - and thank you for whatever you donate. I have donated a fair bit myself, really to cover the costs - so whatever you give is for the hospice and not a holiday for me.
