University is often a magical place, but it can also be a very frightening and lonely place as well. In my experience, from both ends of the phone-line, the ability to be able to speak to a friend, often in the dead of night, is fundamental. But friends are not always there, and this is why Nightline is so important. A totally confidential, anonymous, and non-judgemental gateway, it gives people in the blackest of places something to cling on to, and hope by.
