I started to think about doing this when I saw Doddie at the Edinburgh Fringe in "An Audience with Fred MacAulay", he brought a tear to your eye just before he brought a laugh to your belly, I thought this great guy has got the shitty end of the stick. After the emotional moment at the Scotland V New Zealand match when he and his sons delivered the match ball, I was galvanised into action! My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was set up to raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neurone Disease and investigate potential cures, and to make grants to individuals suffering from MND, to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible.
