On 15th October 2011, our beautiful daughter Bella was born. 5 weeks early weighing only 4lb 4oz and having been diagnosed with a very severe heart condition, Tetralogy of Fallot, she had a  huge fight ahead of her. 

Her condition was as severe as it could have been but being so small, she was far too little for the repair or an operation which would have bought her some time to grow. 

After spending four weeks in heart failure, on a drug that was keeping her alive, and after several scares and a failed balloon valveotomy, the decision was made to repair our tiny baby's heart. 

Her repair came with many risks as they had never done this operation on such a small baby, and they really didn't want to have to do it at that stage, but there was no other option for our darling girl. 

After 9 hours, we were told that despite some complications and a few worrying moments during surgery, it had been a complete success. A terrifyingly beautiful miracle. 

We owe everything and more to the Cardiologists, Nurses, researchers and of course Bella's wonderful surgeon. Without these people, the unthinkable truth is that our daughter would have died.
