Story
On May 19th 2022 Sandra and I are heading to New York joining Jack’s PACK - Police Against Cancer in Kids to take part in its annual fund raiser, set up in memory of 7 year old Jack Brown.
JACK is a registered charity that helps children with the childhood cancer neuroblastoma. Jack's PACK is the charity's biggest fund raising Team. All monies raised assist the costs of sending children abroad to receive potentially life saving treatment and also to further research into this terrible disease.
Around 100 Police Officers across different forces will complete a half marathon in uniform from the waist up around Central Park followed by a 5km run the next morning and then as a team we will take part in a Plane Pull at John F Kennedy Airport. The Pack will pull a JetBlue Airways Airbus A320 against members of U.S. law enforcement, Military and Airport agencies including Teams from New York New Jersey Ports Authority Police, Jet Blue, British Airways and the NY State Troopers.
To find out why we are doing this please read on!
Joining Against Cancer in Kids, A charity inspired by the battle of Jack Brown, son of Met officers Richard and Yvonne Brown.
PC Mark Edwards began the Pack for Jack, Met officers running so he could have treatment in the USA not available to him here, to have a chance and to enjoy extra time, and inspire so many people.
Sadly Jack passed away, but we still run and his legacy was that Joining Against Cancer in Kids was born. JACK and the Pack are still fighting. We want to ensure that the treatments and research into this aggressive cancer are not just for the children whose families live abroad, or whose families can afford them.
We want the cure, and until then we want the best treatments to be available in the UK on the NHS for all families. With your help we can make that happen.
Please give what you can.
Thank you so much for your support and please share!
