Story
On the 27 – 29th October 2018 Peter Spreull, Ross Porter, Adam Martin and Dan Williams will be running 100 miles over the 2 moors way in Devon. Somehow, they think they can actually do it! The reason for undertaking such an task is to raise money for the charity Vetlife.
Vetlife provide independent, confidential and free help for everyone in the veterinary community including veterinary nurses and students. The charity provides a 24/7 phone and email helpline; professional mental health support; financial assistance; information and resources.
The importance of providing mental health support in the veterinary profession cannot be overstated. Stress kills. Research has shown veterinary surgeons in the UK are three to four times more likely than the general population to die by suicide (Platt et al., 2010).
To raise awareness and provide financial support to charities like Vetlife is worth all the effort running 100 miles is going to require. Please sponsor these guys!
