Story
I am raising funds for the many volunteer drivers who provide a fabulous service to the local Lanarkshire community, they are in need of as much funding as you can give. My own family and extended family and friends have had to use their services, and I wish to give something back.
Lanarkshire Cancer Care trust truly is a local charity. Their Annual Story in numbers are:104 Volunteer Drivers.14,430 patients appointments were undertaken .£150,813.12p is the total annual cost of volunteer drivers fuel. 471,291 miles driven by the volunteer drivers last year. That's the equivalent of driving to the moon and back! The drivers are all volunteers and give up their time 52 weeks of the year to help those most in need when that help is needed.
As a Trust, they transport cancer patients to and from their hospital appointments and their service is free of charge.
Each year the Trust has to raise around £250,000 to cover the total operating costs. The funds raised from this event are vital in ensuring that the service remains available for those who require it at a very difficult time of their lives.
