On 1st November, our Nuevas Esperanzas family will be 15 years old.   Neuvas supports families around the Telica volcano, some of the poorest people in the Western hemisphere.  People who live there have to walk huge distances for water (except where we have been able to help with rainwater harvesting), to sell their products and to buy essentials.  There are 21 such volcanoes in Nicaragua with a total of 17000m of vertical ascent.  I'm planning to tackle this on the step machine at the gym over November, to keep in mind how tough life in Telica can be and to raise money for the Nuevas Esperanzas birthday appeal.
