Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking up the challenge to walk 100km, that's roughly 62 miles, in 24 hours in late July 2017. The route is provisionally set but is to be confirmed and will be in Sussex / Kent. The route will be starting in Canterbury and ending near East Grinstead. I will be walking in a team of four, we have all selected our personal charity.
In 2013 I was introduced to Cosmic through a work charity event and I am really so pleased to be able to be supporting them. I have visited the unit and it really is a special and worthy cause, any amount of donation will make a real difference to the care provided.
Cosmic supports the children's intensive care unit at St Mary's Hospital in London. The unit has 8 beds and provides specialist care for critically ill children and their families. The dedicated team treat hundreds of children every year.
It is the only specialist unit in the country that can provide treatment to children with acute life threatening illnesses. It is at the heart of international research in its field.
Cosmic provides emotional, financial and practical support to the parents and families of critically ill children. This enables loved ones to be close to their child whilst in the care of St Mary's. Assistance with accommodation, emergency travel and also provides bereavement support.
Donations will really make such a direct impact on the support care and treatment Cosmic can provide. Every penny will count so please help me make my 100 km count and donate what you can.
Many Thanks Steve
