Fundraising for Action for A-T
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’d love to think that everyone who visits makes a small donation towards the epic cycle adventure that I’m participating in to support Action for A-T.
Over 3 day’s we (The BCA team) are going to cycle about 250 miles from Bedford to Amsterdam and try and raise a huge amount of money (we’ve set a target of a hundred thousand pounds) for a very worthy cause indeed.
We’ve got 100 miles to do on day one so I’m sure that there’ll be a few sore parts before we get the overnight ferry across the Channel !
Please please please donate as much as possibly can and I can assure you that I will be peddling as fast as I can !!
I’m happy to take cash, cheques or bitcoin or alternatively donate through this page and will also happily stick your brand logos onto my jersey (or other body parts) if you wanted to dig into your corporate pockets.
For those of you that haven’t heard of the Charity, they do amazing work.
THEIR MISSION
To fund medical research to speed up the process of identifying a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) or treatments that delay or prevent the disabling effects of this devastating childhood condition.
THEIR VISION
A future where the effects of A-T are minimised.
They passionately believe that with increased funding and continued global and collaborative effort, effective treatments for A-T will be developed and the lives of those affected will be changed.
THEIR FOCUS
They provide a dedicated funding stream for medical research. Their sole focus is to raise funds for this purpose; as well as working to drive research and awareness of A-T. Over the last few years, they have become the leading charitable funders of A-T medical research in the UK.
WHY WAS ACTION FOR A-T ESTABLISHED
Anyone who has a child diagnosed with Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) realises immediately and agonisingly that their lives will be changed forever and that the future holds a number of very difficult challenges for their child both physically and emotionally. Founded in January 2012 by parents of a child diagnosed with A-T, Action for A-T understand what that feeling is like and is committed to making a difference to those affected by funding high quality medical research.
In the UK, research funding for A-T is extremely limited so Action for A-T was established to increase investment in A-T research and raise awareness of the condition. Click here to find out more about our research.
