Story
It's really terrible luck to suddenly suffer cardiac problems. But then, if you live in Bucks, once you get to rehab, you get a massive stroke of good luck when you learn of the existence of Hearts and Souls. Hearts and Souls is a wonderful charity which works with the NHS to deliver a service which nowhere else in the country enjoys. The NHS could not deliver this service with its own funding, it only exists because Hearts and Souls funds half of it. A thousand people a year benefit from the Bucks cardiac rehab program. The charity was set up in 1997 by a group of grateful cardiac patients. Over the years, a leading light of the charity to whom a great deal of its success is owed was a man called Peter Killmister. Peter died in November 2015, just as our association with the charity was starting and we sadly never had the pleasure of meeting him. But we know that our story might have had a different ending without the charity he left behind. So much of our association with Hearts and Souls has been a wish to give something back or to say "thank you" for what we have received and to what we can to pass it on to those who come afterwards. This year, we'd like to particularly dedicate our efforts to the memory of Peter Killmister. We also want to thank everyone who is keeping the charity going from strength to strength.
