I am currently studying about mitochondrial disease and have an active interest in trying to find a treatment for mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial disease impact has recently been studied extensively and has been linked as a contributing factor for a multitude of disease types. Patients suffering from this debilitating condition often require lifelong support from family members and friends. I find this would be a good way to contribute to supporting patients with mitochondrial disease and help raise awareness.

The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease at the moment, which is for many, debilitating and life limiting.
