We help people in Recovery from addiction to rebuild their life by sailing offshore.

Story

This weekend  we will be taking part in the annual Eddystone Pursuit Race, a charity sailing race out to the Eddystone lighthouse and back! (weather permitting)

This year Neriah (3) and Ezra (2) will be embarking on their maiden voyage in an attempt to be the youngest crew members entering the race and in so being, to raise a little extra cash for the charity we are supporting - Tectona Trust!

Tectona trust exists to help people of all ages develop into mature and responsible individuals through the experience of sail training activities in traditional sailing craft, including their maintenance and conservation.

Their main work is with those who are socially disadvantaged and may be suffering  from problems relating to their mental health or drug and alcohol misuse. They also work with a variety of children from school groups to Scout's all of whom get the same warm welcome and a very enriching experience! To find out more about what they do click here: https://www.sailingtectona.co.uk/about-us

I'm not sure how I'm feeling about being trapped on a boat with the two mini William's for the day but I do know that they are VERY excited to go sailing and hopefully they will get a small taste of what the Tectona trust (in collaboration with Sailing Tectona CIC) offer to their visitors! (is it too much to expect them to be "mature and responsible individuals" after this one experience?! :')

If you are able to please donate to special work of this charity by sponsoring Neriah and Ezra's maiden voyage!

Dr Roger Crabtree strongly believed that voyaging on a traditional sailing vessel could help people of all ages, including adults with individual personal challenges. Sadly Roger has passed away. We are determined that his vision will be carried forward. Thank you for your help.
