I have been a Midwife now for over 33  years, of which I've worked in the local community for the last 29. I love my job with a passion, and have looked after many women over the years, most of whom have had amazing experiences, but occasionally, when things go wrong, it's devastating

I am lucky enough to have 3 healthy children. Harry, now 26, Daisy 19 and Holly 15, who was born at 35 weeks.Trying to have them, was a long, sad road; struggling with fertility, and also having 5 miscarriages.

My best friend Gill, was with me through and through, consoling me through everything; including the miscarriages, and the monthly disappointment when I had my period. I was also lucky enough to have her there to deliver 2 out of the 3 of them, which was amazing!!!

 Sadly, 5 years ago, at the age of 54, she died following a 17 month battle against Ovarian cancer. I miss her smile and laughter every day

The Genesis Research Trust raise money for valuable research into caused of Stillbirths,  miscarriages, premature births, fertility issues, and Ovarian cancer, so a charity very close to my heart.

I have so far cycled Cuba in 2017, Vienna to Budapest in 2018 and Argentina to Chile in February this year to raise money for them, and am about to cycle Croatia this October, cycling approx 250 miles from Split to Dubrovnik.

The challenges I have done have been the most incredible experiences of my life, meeting amazing people, who have been through awful times. It's fantastic to feel that you can actually do something to help.
