We support people with sickle cell disease to improve their overall quality of life

Story

Our friend and colleague Sally-Ann Ephson died last week following a long illness.

Tributes were led by Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, who said: “She was a ray of sunshine, much-loved by all who knew her.

“As someone who always had time for anyone who needed it, it was her natural calling to become a councillor and represent the community she spent so much time and energy working to improve.”

“She served her constituents with dignity and grace. Sally-Ann also served on the board of the Sickle Cell Society, and was a strong advocate for both improved access to and better quality of care for those with the disease.

“I will remember Sally-Ann fondly as a dear friend, determined campaigner and, above all, as someone who never stopped smiling. Rest in peace, Sally-Ann.”

Sally-Ann's family have asked for donations in her memory to the Sickle Cell Society.
